The city is governed by a mayor and seven council members.   Council meetings are held weekly and are open to the public.  City services include water, sewer, trash removal, police parks and recreation, and citizen activities.   Fire protection and emergency medic squad are provided by Mifflin Township.   The city works closely with the school district in the use of facilities and busses to provide an excellent recreational program for the citizens of the community.
